Let's Play Follow The Leader!

Leadership matters in the minds and hearts of those who are following it. Followers have a keen sense of leadership, and when something is out of balance with their leader, they may not be able to pinpoint it, but they can usually tell, and as a result they will be less inclined to commit their very best to the team and to the leader.

If you as a leader exhibit little character in your leadership, or come across as a malcontent, or abandon your team when they really need you, or... then it will effect your followers and their desire to fall underneath your leadership. Leadership is earned daily!

Think about it - have you ever served under a leader who didn't really want to be there? Or who didn't commit to the team, but instead had many different commitments that drew them in many different directions? Or that was less than scrupulous in the way they conducted themselves? These are just a few examples, but I'm betting that if you ever served under that type of leadership, you found it difficult to give 100 percent all day, every day.

Great leaders understand the positive and negative impact that their words, actions and attitudes have on their followers, wherever they are leading - in the home, workplace, community, or church.

Extraordinary leaders are just ordinary people who spend quality time with an extraordinary God. That is truly the best way to play "Follow The Leader".
