Forgiven Forever

Someone recently asked me about the defintion of forgiveness. Many years ago I rode dirt bikes with my friends on the weekends. We would spend the entire Saturday riding our bikes, racing each other, flying through the air, jumping large mounds of dirt, pushing through deep mud holes, and spitting out dirt and mud from our tires. At the end of the day we and our bikes were covered from top to bottom in red Georgia clay and mud.

After our ride we would load up our bikes and head to the local car wash where we dropped in our quarters and spent the next hour or so washing down our bikes and ourselves. That's right we used the car wash to spray off our bikes, helmets, boots, riding clothes and yes even ourselves. When we were done all of the dirt and mud had been washed completely off and we were restored to our pre-ride look.

Similarly, when Jesus Christ forgave me and became the Lord of my life, He washed ALL my sins away completely and forever. I don't have to dwell on them anymore because they are no more. I don't look back because my God doesn't. He through His Son, Jesus Christ has forgiven me forever.

Once you've asked Jesus to clean you, you are wonderfully forgiven and are pure as a mountain stream. This is the true definition of forgiveness. Don't let anyone take this away from you, lead like you are forgiven forever - because you are!
